Stephan's Quintet is a group of interacting galaxies. The larger galaxy at the upper right in the group is actually a foreground galaxy. However, the galaxy at upper left, the pair of galaxies in the center, and the small galaxy at the center lower right are all in the process of merging. The small galaxy at the far lower right is NGC7320B.
This also known as ARP 319, and is #92 in Hickson's Atlas of Compact Groups of Galaxies.
For those of you who like trivia, a Palomar image of these galaxies was used for the opening "angel conversation" in the movie It's a Wonderful Life.
This picture is a replacement of an earlier version. I took this picture from my driveway.
